Role Overview: This position is for outpatient Certified Medical Assistants responsible for supporting patient care in an ambulatory setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document patient information, vital signs, and screening details using electronic medical records.
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms; assist patients with visits, ensuring safety and privacy.
- Provide direct patient care, including performing EKGs, wound dressings, and supporting minor surgical procedures.
- Administer medications and perform tests and treatments as validated by competency.
- Collect laboratory specimens, perform phlebotomy, and support laboratory functions.
- Handle clerical duties such as scheduling, documentation, referrals, and collecting co-payments.
- Assist with patient education, inventory management, instrument sterilization, and infection control protocols.
- Participate in patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of a 1- or 2-year Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required, certified by recognized associations.
- Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with electronic health records.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy, administer medications, and support clinical procedures.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
