Job Summary
Radiologic Technologists are responsible for performing diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently execute radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, analyze data for diagnosis, and assist licensed practitioners. Responsibilities include preparing patients, ensuring proper identification, using appropriate imaging protocols, and applying ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure. They evaluate image quality, verify data transfer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in compliance with laws and policies. Additionally, they educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist with specialized procedures outside the radiology department, and perform tasks in various clinical settings. The role requires adherence to safety standards and organizational policies. New graduates must obtain ARRT-R certification within six months, and recent hires may need to advance to level 2 within 24 months. The position requires graduation from a radiologic technology program, with a preferred Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
