Role Overview: The MRI Technologist I performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to support diagnosis and research, ensuring patient safety and image quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, identify, and prepare patients for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles.
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, documenting activities in compliance with regulations.
- Evaluate images for proper positioning and technical quality, ensuring proper data archiving and transfer.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers; assist with magnetic resonance interventions.
- Select suitable pulse sequences based on protocols and data acquisition needs.
- Apply safety principles to minimize risks to patients, self, and staff.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.
Qualifications & Skills: Certification by ARRT or ARMRIT in MR, or NMTCB with MR certification. Graduate of Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s preferred. Knowledge of MRI safety, imaging protocols, and patient care is essential.
