Role Overview: Responsible for assessing, planning, performing, and evaluating respiratory care treatments for patients. Ensures thorough patient assessments, develops care plans, and communicates effectively with care teams. Performs routine therapies such as aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, secretion management, and assists with artificial airway care.
Key Duties: Initiates and manages mechanical ventilation, provides patient and family education, assists with intra-hospital transport, manages acute airway emergencies, and supports invasive procedures like bronchoscopy and monitoring line placement. Adheres to safety standards, maintains patient confidentiality, and complies with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate from a specialty training program, with certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS. Demonstrates clinical competence, strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to evidence-based practices and protocols. Experience with advanced equipment and emergency response is essential.
