Role Overview: A Radiation Therapist provides ionizing radiation treatments to patients, following physician prescriptions and ensuring safety protocols. They operate radiation equipment, perform precise technical procedures, and contribute to quality control monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate therapy, assess patients, and document procedures in EMR.
- Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and safety measures.
- Ensure patient safety by following proper procedures, managing mobility, and wearing radiation badges.
- Perform patient set-ups, simulate treatment fields, and schedule treatments appropriately.
- Assist with additional tasks, participate in on-call rotations, and serve as a clinical instructor for students.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- Certification in ARRT Radiation Therapy and BLS (or BLS-Instructor).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred.
- Ability to treat and simulate patients accurately.
