Role Overview: The Clinical Nurse Professional Development (NPD) Educator collaborates to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities aimed at enhancing healthcare practice. They serve as learning facilitators, change agents, mentors, and advocates for professional growth, supporting staff performance, role competence, and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify practice gaps by assessing learning needs and analyzing data to inform education strategies.
- Develop and execute educational plans using adult learning principles, ensuring inclusivity and stakeholder involvement.
- Coordinate and facilitate educational programs, evaluating their effectiveness and making data-driven improvements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support departments to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Promote evidence-based practice, research, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, policies, and regulations, integrating ethics into practice.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; valid RN license; multi-state licensure preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
- Certifications such as BLS required; additional certifications like ACLS, PALS may be needed.
- Strong computer, communication, interpersonal, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Ability to function effectively in fast-paced settings and respond to emergencies.
- Knowledge of adult learning theories, educational strategies, and quality improvement tools.
