Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently execute or assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring accurate data acquisition for diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
- Use appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate image quality and proper positioning.
- Verify data storage and transfer, post-process images if needed.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures in various settings, including OR and ICU.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months (new graduates).
- Ability to perform diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures with attention to safety and quality.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety, patient care, and imaging protocols.
Additional Details: Work occurs in a clinical environment, adhering to policies and procedures. New hires must progress to level 2 within 24 months if applicable. The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, continuous learning, and diversity, fostering a patient-centered approach.
