Occupational Therapist – Outpatient

Role Overview:

Establishes and provides outpatient occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for patients with physical impairments affecting daily activities and work-related functions. Works within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare providers, and delegating tasks to assistants and students based on competency. Responsible for developing treatment plans considering discharge needs, functional outcomes, and equipment. Engages in patient education, consultations, and may participate in research and quality improvement projects.

Qualifications & Skills:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years of experience, with licensure and board certification in a specialized area. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree. Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills are essential.

Key Duties:

  • Evaluate and treat patients, establishing personalized care plans.
  • Educate and collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Delegate tasks to team members based on skill level.
  • Follow clinical guidelines and departmental policies for assessments and treatments.
