Role Overview: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides safe, accurate imaging services by performing diagnostic exams in accordance with department procedures. They independently operate equipment, position patients, and ensure quality image acquisition while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adjust techniques to optimize image quality and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety protocols.
- Verify patient identity, assess clinical history, and respond to emergency situations.
- Maintain equipment hygiene and functionality, adhering to infection control standards.
- Communicate clearly with patients, explain procedures, and address questions to minimize anxiety.
- Document procedures accurately and participate in departmental training and orientation.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards and timely reporting to PACS and RIS systems.
- Assist with patient transport, setup supportive devices, and perform routine clerical duties.
- Maintain departmental cleanliness, restock supplies, and support regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates degree in Radiologic Technology.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience; nuclear medicine experience preferred.
- Certifications: ARRT Nuclear Technology or Certified Nuclear Med Tech, BLS certification.
- Knowledge of equipment operation, sterile techniques, venipuncture, and patient care procedures.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
