Role Overview: Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician, performs specialized technical duties in surgical or procedural settings. Assists the surgical team by managing equipment and instrumentation to ensure a safe operating environment, availability, and proper functioning of necessary tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sterile equipment and supplies.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of operating rooms.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment operate correctly.
- Support the surgical team during procedures, adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High school diploma required; completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program.
- Experience: At least 1 year of surgical tech experience; preferred experience as a surgical tech.
- Certifications & Licenses: Surgical Technician Certification by recognized boards or military/public health programs; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire. Only one certification is necessary, obtained within 90 days.
Additional Requirements: Must obtain required certifications within 90 days of employment. Experience in surgical technology and relevant certifications are essential for qualified candidates.
