Role Overview: Under supervision, performs specialized technical duties in the surgical or procedural environment to support patient care and ensure a safe operating room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing patients and surgical areas, arranging drapes, instruments, and supplies for efficiency.
- Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies during procedures.
- Maintain a strict aseptic environment; label and dispatch solutions and medications per protocols.
- Demonstrate knowledge of procedural steps, handle instrumentation dexterously, and manage specimens correctly.
- Prepare equipment and supplies, perform counts, and participate in team meetings and in-services.
- Follow infection control policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards to ensure a safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team operations and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program.
- Experience preferred; at least one year as a Surgical Technician is advantageous.
- Certifications required: Surgical Technician certification by recognized boards or military programs, and BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
