MRI Technologist

Role Overview: MRI Technologists operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, analyze data, and assist licensed practitioners. They prepare patients, ensure accurate imaging, and adhere to safety standards, including ALARA principles. They may also assist with magnetic resonance interventional procedures and administer medications per regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history securely.
  • Optimize imaging protocols, ensure patient safety, and evaluate image quality for proper positioning.
  • Assist with and perform MRI procedures, select appropriate pulse sequences, and ensure proper data handling.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying safety principles to minimize risks.
  • Support department quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.

Qualifications & Skills: Certifications from ARRT (MRI), ARMRIT, or NMTCB combined with ARRT-MR are required. A graduate from a radiologic technology program is necessary, with a bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates must demonstrate technical proficiency, adherence to safety, and collaborative spirit.
