Role Overview: Provides anesthesia care in the Operating Room to support surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under supervision. Acts as a patient advocate, offering preoperative evaluation and postoperative follow-up. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anesthetizes patients and selects appropriate drugs for anesthesia and emergency situations.
- Induces, maintains, and monitors anesthesia, responding to codes and airway management needs.
- Adjusts medications based on patient monitoring and interprets hemodynamic data and equipment status.
- Performs thorough preoperative assessments and organizes OR setup with monitors, equipment, and drugs.
- Coordinates with healthcare team to ensure patient safety, positioning, and equipment functionality.
- Provides anesthesia support, charts accurately into EMR, and ensures safe patient transport and handoff.
- Serves as a mentor, preceptor, and expert in anesthesia to peers, staff, residents, and students.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Strong clinical skills in anesthesia administration, patient monitoring, and emergency response.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize clinical duties efficiently.
Work Environment: Primarily clinical setting with potential travel. Responsible for adhering to policies, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining professional standards.
