MRI Technologist (PRN)

Role Overview: This position involves providing safe, age-appropriate imaging services by performing a variety of technical procedures independently. The technologist sets up equipment, positions patients, and ensures image quality while adhering to safety and procedural standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain comprehensive clinical histories and assess patients for contraindications.
  • Administer contrast media safely, verifying patient information and preparing patients for procedures.
  • Operate imaging equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and maintain cleanliness and infection control.
  • Explain procedures to patients, address questions, and ensure patient comfort and privacy.
  • Review images for quality, transmit studies to PACS, and document accurately.
  • Assist in patient transport, support procedures, and perform routine clerical tasks.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, follow safety guidelines, and participate in mandatory training.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards and hospital policies, including taking call when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Accredited Radiologic Technology program certification.
  • ARMRIT or ARRT-MR certification and BLS certification required.
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience, preferably in MRI settings.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Competence in MRI procedures, anatomy, pathology, and safety protocols.
