Charge Nurse (RN) – Acute Care

Role Overview:
A Registered Nurse provides high-quality nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs within a collaborative care team. They act as a key liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring patient-centered care and safety. The nurse participates in performance improvement initiatives, maintains professional competence, and supports shared governance through council involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate patient conditions, assist in care planning, and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Communicate care plans effectively with team members and prioritize patient flow for optimal outcomes.
  • Deliver safe, effective care, document assessments, and report changes or incidents per policies.
  • Address patient and family concerns, provide education, and promote satisfaction through compassionate advocacy.
  • Contribute to performance improvement efforts, suggesting solutions and supporting organizational goals.
  • Maintain licensure and certifications, pursue professional growth, and engage in leadership and mentorship activities.
  • Adhere to confidentiality, safety standards, and professional conduct, promoting a positive work environment.

  • Qualifications & Skills:
    – Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
    – Valid RN license; multi-state compact license preferred.
    – BLS certification required upon hire.
    – Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
    – Commitment to professional development and quality patient care.
