Role Overview: Provides anesthesia care in the Operating Room supporting surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Conducts preoperative evaluations and postoperative follow-ups, serving as a patient advocate and liaison among patients, families, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anesthetizes patients, selects drugs for anesthesia and emergencies, induces and maintains anesthesia, and responds to codes while managing the airway.
- Monitors patient status, interprets hemodynamic waveforms, and adjusts medications accordingly.
- Assesses patient condition, reviews charts, and conducts thorough preoperative evaluations.
- Organizes OR with necessary equipment, performs diagnostic checks, and coordinates with staff to ensure a safe environment.
- Provides anesthesia support across assigned areas, charts accurately into EMR, and safely transports patients post-procedure.
- Serves as a mentor, preceptor, and expert in anesthesia practices, supporting peers, staff, residents, and students.
Qualifications & Skills: Master’s Degree in Nursing required, along with clinical expertise in anesthesia, communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams in a clinical setting.
