Job Summary
Performs specialized technical duties in surgical or procedural settings under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician. Assists the surgical team by handling equipment and instrumentation to maintain a safe operating room environment, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functional.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- Experience:
- Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Tech
- Certification/Licensure:
- Must hold one of the following:
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Center for Competency Testing
- United States Military or U.S. Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, to be obtained within ninety days of hire
