Role Overview: CT Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, perform computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, and analyze data for diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct patient order, ensure proper identification, preparation, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety and care.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
- Evaluate image quality, verify data storage/transfer, and perform post-processing if needed.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist in interventional procedures.
- Perform prescribed CT procedures accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
- Ability to perform or assist with interventional procedures and evaluate images effectively.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety, patient care, and imaging protocols.
Education & Experience: Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
