Role Overview:
Provides anesthesia care in the Operating Room supporting surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, postoperative follow-up, and acting as a patient advocate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anesthetizes patients, selecting appropriate drugs and emergency treatments.
- Induces, maintains, and monitors anesthesia, responding to emergencies and maintaining airway patency.
- Adjusts medications based on patient monitoring and interprets hemodynamic data.
- Communicates patient status with surgical team and assesses patient condition pre- and post-operation.
- Coordinates with staff to ensure a safe environment, including equipment setup and troubleshooting.
- Performs thorough preoperative evaluations and organizes operating room supplies.
- Documents accurately in patient EMR, transports patients safely, and provides hand-off reports.
- Serves as a mentor and preceptor to peers, staff, residents, and students.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (required).
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia practices, patient monitoring, and emergency response.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a clinical environment with potential travel requirements.
