Role Overview:
This position is for an Assistant Nurse Manager in a high-volume, specialized surgical unit within a Level One Trauma Center. The role involves staff management, patient care coordination, and operational oversight of a team responsible for core services such as gynecology, urology, colorectal, MIS, bariatrics, and robotic surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising and evaluating approximately 30-35 staff members, including hiring, training, coaching, and conducting performance reviews.
- Managing staff scheduling, conducting interviews, and ensuring productivity aligns with departmental goals.
- Overseeing patient care, creating collaborative care plans, and ensuring documentation compliance.
- Participating in budget development and maintaining adherence to financial targets.
- Supporting staff development and fostering a safe, efficient work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (RN license required).
- 2-5 years of relevant experience; supervisory experience is preferred, with 5-10 years of experience and <2 years of supervisory experience considered advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and professionalism.
