Role Overview:
This position involves performing non-invasive diagnostic cardiovascular tests, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography, to assist in diagnosing cardiac conditions. The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) conducts advanced imaging modalities such as 3D echocardiography, right heart strain, TAPSE, and PISA, supporting complex assessments like transcatheter procedures, congenital abnormalities, and transplanted organs.
Responsibilities include evaluating patient history, capturing appropriate images, analyzing clinical data, and collaborating with healthcare teams. The role requires reviewing images, synthesizing results, and preparing preliminary findings for physicians. It involves working across various hospital locations, ensuring high-quality diagnostic services without after-hours call, and supporting research protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s Degree or Trade School equivalency
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification
- Knowledge of advanced echocardiographic techniques (3D, strain imaging, transcatheter procedures)
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to recognize abnormalities
- CPR certification preferred
