CT Technologist

Role Overview: The CT Technologist applies expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. They are vital members of a collaborative care team, performing CT procedures according to department guidelines, ensuring diagnostic accuracy while minimizing radiation exposure. Their responsibilities include preparing patients, explaining procedures, maintaining equipment, and accurately documenting exams in RIS/PACS systems. The role requires organizing workflows, supporting department operations, and responding to emergencies to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Radiology.
  • Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (American Heart Association).

Key Duties:

  • Perform CT scans using technical knowledge to ensure quality images at the lowest dose.
  • Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques as needed.
  • Maintain infection control and equipment hygiene, report issues promptly.
  • Screen patients, verify orders, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety.
  • Position patients, administer contrast, and ensure safety and comfort throughout exams.
  • Review images for diagnostic quality, repeat if necessary, and finalize studies.
  • Document accurately and support department workflows, including patient transport and supply management.
  • Respond to emergencies and help maintain safety protocols.
