Role Overview: CT Technologists are responsible for performing computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, and assisting licensed practitioners with interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper patient identification, preparation, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety and care.
- Prepare and/or administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
- Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and ensure data is stored or transferred correctly.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Assist with and perform CT procedures as directed by licensed practitioners.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification before starting.
- Advanced certification within 24 months for hires after a specified date.
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Work Environment & Compliance: Primarily performed in a clinical setting, with accountability for adhering to policies, procedures, and safety standards. Additional department-specific skills may be required.
