Diagnostic Radiology Technologist – Regional Float

Role Summary: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring accurate data collection for diagnosis by licensed practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct orders, identify patients, and prepare them for exams while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and prioritize patient safety following ALARA principles.
  • Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
  • Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and verify data storage and transfer.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
  • Assist licensed practitioners during fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the Radiology Department.

Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; ARRT-R registration required within 6 months; ability to perform procedures independently; strong attention to safety and patient care; excellent communication skills.

Additional Details: Work is performed in a clinical setting, with compliance to policies and procedures. New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registration promptly. Applicants hired after a specified date must progress to level 2 within 24 months. The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and continuous learning.
