Role Overview:
An MRI Technologist I performs diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal imaging quality. They independently operate MRI equipment, prepare patients, and acquire data for interpretation by licensed practitioners. The role involves evaluating images, verifying quality, and assisting with MRI interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain correct patient information, ensure proper preparation, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize safety.
Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and ensure proper data storage and transfer.
Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers; apply safety principles to minimize risks.
Assist with MRI procedures, select appropriate pulse sequences, and participate in quality improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Certifications: ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB (with MR endorsement).
Education: Graduate of a radiologic technology specialty training program; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Proficiency in routine and complex MRI duties, strong attention to safety, and collaboration skills.
