Lead Sonographer Reg WMCG Rot

Role Overview: This position involves performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, ensuring safe and age-appropriate patient care, and independently operating imaging equipment. The technologist sets up and positions patients, follows protocols, and verifies clinical information to produce high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment.


  • Responsibilities: Verify orders, obtain clinical histories, administer contrast medias safely, ensure proper patient identification, review ultrasound images, respond to emergencies, assist colleagues, and maintain patient dignity and comfort.
  • Explain procedures clearly using AIDET, address patient concerns, and document findings accurately.
  • Maintain equipment functionality, perform quality control, and adhere to infection control policies.
  • Transport patients, restock supplies, support departmental operations, and ensure a clean, organized workspace.
  • Operate ultrasound workstations, manage PACS uploads, and support regulatory compliance.
  • Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to team members, and support department leadership.

Qualifications & Skills: High School Diploma or GED required; Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree preferred. Certification through ARDMS or ARRT-S and BLS certification are mandatory. Minimum of 3 years ultrasound experience and proficiency in all aspects of ultrasound imaging, including high-risk pediatric exams, are essential.


Must possess excellent communication, customer service, multitasking, and independent problem-solving skills. Flexibility, dependability, and adherence to policies are vital for success in this fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
