Role Overview:
This position involves providing direct patient care in a 26-bed acute care unit specializing in medical-surgical cases, including occasional trach patient care. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs while promoting patient and family-centered care, safety, and quality standards. The role requires developing individualized care plans, educating patients and families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensed RN with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- No prior experience required; preferred experience includes at least 2 years of relevant nursing practice
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment
Key Duties:
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional patient needs
- Develop, implement, and document care plans in collaboration with the care team and patients
- Educate patients and families on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication use
- Participate in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and compliance with regulations
