Role Overview: The Pharmacist provides safe, effective, and cost-efficient pharmaceutical care, developing and monitoring evidence-based pharmacotherapy plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pharmaceutical care tailored to specific patient care areas.
- Interpret and clarify physicians’ medication orders, review medication profiles for safety, interactions, and contraindications.
- Assess prescribing practices, suggest formulary alternatives, and consult with medical staff on drug therapy issues.
- Provide drug information and patient discharge medication counseling.
- Participate in rounds, calculate dosages, verify orders, and prepare sterile or compounded medications.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, students, and interns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve pharmacy-related issues and assist in policy review and updates.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (required); Doctoral Degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and clinical monitoring.
- Excellent communication, supervision, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to interpret laboratory results and pharmacokinetic data.
