Role Overview: CT Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, performing computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures. They acquire and analyze data to support diagnosis and interventions, either independently or assisting licensed practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure correct patient identification, proper preparation, and documentation of clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety and care.
- Prepare, administer, and document medications and radiation exposure as prescribed.
- Evaluate image quality, verify data transfer, and perform post-processing if needed.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Assist and perform interventional CT procedures as directed by licensed practitioners.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
- Ability to perform or assist with advanced procedures and adhere to safety and legal standards.
- Educational background in Radiologic Technology; bachelor’s degree preferred.
