Role Overview: Performs computed tomography (CT) procedures, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and research imaging, while ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtains correct patient identification, prepares patients, and documents clinical history with confidentiality.
- Utilizes appropriate imaging protocols, optimizes technical factors, and applies ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
- Prepares and administers medications via vascular access under licensed practitioner guidance.
- Evaluates image quality, verifies data transfer, and performs post-processing if needed.
- Educates and monitors students and healthcare providers; assists with interventional procedures.
- Performs CT procedures as prescribed, ensuring accurate positioning and technical quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
- Additional advanced certification required within 24 months for hires after a specified date.
- Graduate of a specialized Radiologic Technology training program.
