Role Overview: Responsible for performing CT procedures to acquire diagnostic images, supporting physicians in diagnosis and treatment. Under supervision, operates CT scanners, power injectors, and computer systems, ensuring adherence to protocols based on clinical criteria, anatomy, and safety guidelines. Maintains knowledge of various CT systems and clinical histories to select appropriate protocols, including advanced imaging such as CTA, TAVR, EVAR, and cardiac studies. Ensures patient safety through proper positioning, immobilization, shielding, and dose management, while performing CT interventional procedures. Maintains expertise in pharmacology, physiology, and physics to optimize image quality and minimize patient dose.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CT scanners and related equipment to produce high-quality images.
- Follow established protocols aligned with safety and imaging guidelines.
- Perform advanced imaging techniques, including CTA and interventional procedures.
- Ensure patient preparation, positioning, and safety measures are correctly implemented.
- Maintain knowledge of clinical histories and anatomy to select suitable protocols.
- Monitor dose data and alert when scans exceed preset safety levels.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate from a specialty training program in radiologic technology, with the ability to operate multiple CT systems across locations. Knowledge of imaging physics, pharmacology, and anatomy is essential. Strong technical skills, attention to safety, and the ability to interpret technical factors are required. Ability to perform CT interventional procedures and advanced imaging techniques is preferred.
