Occupational Therapist

Role Overview: The Occupational Therapist plans and implements treatment programs for patients across all ages, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. They assess patient needs, develop individualized interventions, and evaluate outcomes to promote health and functional independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Self-assesses and seeks ongoing professional development; shares knowledge with colleagues.
  • Builds rapport with patients, families, and team members, addressing cultural diversity.
  • Communicates effectively with all stakeholders and seeks/provides professional feedback.
  • Analyzes problems, evaluates data, and develops solutions; maintains departmental policies and promotes quality improvement.
  • Assists in discharge planning, recommending adaptive equipment, and ensuring patient safety.
  • Prepares documentation, participates in evidence-based practices, and promotes department cohesion.
  • Mentors staff and students, fostering professional growth and education.
  • Evaluates patients, develops treatment plans, and modifies interventions based on ongoing assessments.
  • Supports team collaboration, promotes positive relationships, and adapts to change.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist certification.
