Job Summary
Performs specialized technical duties in a surgical or procedural setting under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician. Assists the surgical team with equipment and instrumentation to ensure a safe operating room environment, verifying that necessary equipment is available and functioning properly.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
Experience
- Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Tech
Certification/Licensure
- Must hold one of the following:
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Center for Competency Testing
- United States Military or U.S. Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within ninety (90) days of hire
