Clinical Nurse BMT Oncology

Role Overview

This position involves providing direct patient care in a high-acuity Leukemia/Lymphoma unit, focusing on complex interventions such as chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, and managing post-treatment complications within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient and family-centered care, including education on illness management, medication, and post-treatment needs.
  • Participate in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and compliance, while engaging in ongoing professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with clear goals, ensuring effective communication across care teams and with patients and families.
  • Assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, cultural, spiritual, and demographic factors.
  • Maintain safety standards and work alertly in a safety-sensitive environment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Required: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree, RN licensure, and no prior experience necessary.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing with at least 2 years of experience.
