Role Overview:
Provides direct patient care in a high-acuity pulmonary progressive care unit, managing patients with conditions such as lung transplants, pulmonary hypertension, and ventilator dependence. Works closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, including advanced practice nurses, to deliver timely, quality treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes patient- and family-centered care by educating on illness management, medication, and post-discharge needs.
- Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, and engages in professional development.
- Develops and documents individualized care plans, ensuring effective communication across care teams.
- Assesses physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural factors.
- Adheres to safety protocols as this is a safety-sensitive role.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Educational requirements: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Licensure: Active RN license.
- Experience: No experience required; 2+ years preferred for advancement opportunities.
