Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit RN (Part Time Days)

Role Overview:

Provides direct patient care in a high-acuity pulmonary progressive care unit, managing patients with conditions such as lung transplants, pulmonary hypertension, and ventilator dependence. Works closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, including advanced practice nurses, to deliver timely, quality treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes patient- and family-centered care by educating on illness management, medication, and post-discharge needs.
  • Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, and engages in professional development.
  • Develops and documents individualized care plans, ensuring effective communication across care teams.
  • Assesses physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural factors.
  • Adheres to safety protocols as this is a safety-sensitive role.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational requirements: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Licensure: Active RN license.
  • Experience: No experience required; 2+ years preferred for advancement opportunities.
  • Skills: Critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and commitment to excellence in patient care.
