Role Overview: Responsible for assisting licensed pharmacists by providing medication and healthcare products to patients with accuracy and efficiency. Tasks include preparing prescriptions, counting tablets, labeling bottles, stocking products, and ensuring customer service. Operates computer systems to maintain patient profiles and insurance claims, and processes transactions at checkout. Maintains a clean, well-stocked department, adheres to HIPAA and legal policies, and supports additional tasks delegated by pharmacists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock and inventory medications, notify management of supply needs.
- Receive and process prescriptions and refills from patients.
- Retrieve, count, package, label, and weigh products.
- Maintain customer profiles and insurance documentation.
- Operate cash register accurately, handle transactions, and issue receipts.
- Familiarity with departmental products and maintaining a clean environment.
- Follow all legal and safety policies, including HIPAA compliance.
- Support other duties as assigned by the pharmacist.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of customer service or pharmacy-related experience preferred.
- State registration or certification required.
- Strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of suggestive selling and product awareness.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform bending, stooping, and twisting. Work environment includes varied temperatures and outdoor conditions with low to moderate noise levels.
