Role Overview: Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently conduct or assist with CT and molecular imaging, ensuring accurate data acquisition for diagnosis and intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, and prepare patients while respecting confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, documenting activities in compliance with laws and policies.
- Evaluate image quality, verify proper positioning, and manage data storage and transfer.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures.
- Perform CT procedures as prescribed and evaluate images for technical accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification before starting.
- Advanced certification within 24 months for hires after a specified date.
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program; bachelor’s degree preferred.
