Role Overview: Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently operate CT and molecular imaging equipment, acquire and analyze data, and assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper patient identification, preparation, and clinical history documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize safety and care.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate image quality and proper positioning.
- Verify data storage, assist with post-processing, and educate or monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Support licensed practitioners during interventional procedures and perform imaging as prescribed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
- For hires after a specified date, must complete steps for advanced certification within 24 months.
- Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
