Role Overview: The Pharmacist provides safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy, developing evidence-based care plans focused on patient outcomes and quality of life. They assess medication appropriateness, monitor lab results, and ensure medication safety, adherence, and efficacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pharmaceutical care within assigned patient care areas.
- Interpret and clarify physicians’ medication orders; review patient medication profiles for safety and interactions.
- Recommend formulary alternatives based on clinical parameters.
- Consult with medical staff on drug therapy issues and monitor lab results.
- Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and discharge medication counseling.
- Participate in patient rounds, calculate dosages, and verify orders for accuracy.
- Prepare compounded and sterile medications using aseptic techniques.
- Manage pharmacy supplies, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with standards.
- Assist and educate healthcare team members; coordinate activities with pharmacy personnel.
- Contribute to policy review and departmental improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctoral Degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication safety, and clinical monitoring.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to interpret lab results and calculate drug dosages.
- Experience with sterile compounding and medication management.
