Role Overview: This position is for a full-time Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) responsible for delivering compassionate patient care, coordinating care activities, and supporting interdisciplinary team collaboration in a clinical setting. The nurse contributes to assessments, implements treatments, evaluates patient responses, and participates in discharge planning, ensuring safety and patient satisfaction. Mentorship and precepting of new staff and students are key aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic procedures.
- Assess physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning throughout hospitalization.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to address patient needs.
- Participate in evidence-based practice decisions and contribute to unit-based improvements.
- Mentor new staff and students, supporting professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing.
- Experience or interest in Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgical Care preferred.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, primarily during evening shifts.
