Role Overview:
Provides direct nursing care within a 32-bed oncology unit specializing in blood cancers, supporting patients with moderate to high acuity needs. The role involves assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care according to established standards. Ensures patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, medication, and post-treatment needs. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop and communicate individualized care plans, addressing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while respecting patient values and barriers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotes a healing environment through patient and family education.
- Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, and engages in professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents personalized care plans in coordination with team members and patients.
- Uses critical nursing skills for comprehensive assessment and evaluation of patient needs.
- Works in a safety-sensitive environment, maintaining constant alertness.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing; RN licensure.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and at least 2 years of experience.
- GNs considered; sign-on bonus eligible.
