Role Overview:
Provides direct patient care in an inpatient surgical setting, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, adhering to nursing standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating them on illness management, medication, and post-treatment needs. Participates in activities supporting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and communicate individualized care plans. Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while considering patient preferences and cultural factors. This safety-sensitive role requires alertness and safe practice at all times.
- Qualifications include a Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree and RN licensure. A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and 2+ years of experience are preferred.
- Experience in Med/Surg is advantageous.
