Role Overview:
The Graduate Nurse provides essential patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing standards. This role requires completion of a nursing program and obtaining licensure within 90 days to maintain employment in Missouri. The position involves educating patients and families on illness management, using critical thinking to evaluate needs, developing individualized care plans, and ensuring patient safety and quality care. The nurse participates in professional development and adheres to safety protocols, with a focus on promoting a healing environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Additional relevant qualifications or experience in nursing
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient education skills
- Ability to work safely and in alertness as this position is safety-sensitive
Key Duties:
- Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and medication administration
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs of patients
- Develop and modify care plans collaboratively, promoting patient-centered care
- Evaluate patient responses and adjust care accordingly
