Role Overview: Performs and reports various laboratory analyses from multiple specimen sources to ensure high-quality patient care and satisfaction. Provides care tailored to specific age groups within the clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains productivity and manages multiple work processes efficiently.
- Properly handles specimens, confirms identification, and uses correct accessioning procedures.
- Recognizes discrepancies, resolves issues, and reports problems appropriately.
- Performs instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, quality control, and replenishes supplies.
- Follows established reporting procedures and navigates multiple computer applications.
- Assists in training new employees and participates in ongoing education to stay current in the field.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an accredited Medical Technology/ Laboratory Science program; certification or experience as an MLT is preferred.
- Military experience in related medical laboratory roles is welcomed.
- Ability to work in a clinical environment with adherence to policies and procedures.
- Successful completion of competency exams required.
