Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist III provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments, primarily in critical care settings. They manage ventilators, perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, and interpret diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases, ensuring high-quality, safe patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate patient care, including assessments, therapy planning, and execution.
- Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and perform airway management procedures.
- Educate patients and support system, mentor new staff and students, and promote best practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
- Promote a safe environment through adherence to protocols, documentation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate actively in performance improvement projects and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT, RCP, and additional credentials such as ACCS, AE-C, NPS, or RPFT.
- Minimum two years of clinical experience in critical care areas.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills, with the ability to establish collaborative relationships.
Additional Duties: Ensure compliance with policies and standards, support professional development, and assist in invasive and pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
