Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment, primarily in critical care settings. They independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and analyze arterial blood gases, ensuring high-quality, safe patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized patient care, including aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, and ventilator management.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members for care planning and execution.
- Educate patients, families, and support staff, and mentor new employees and students.
- Promote a safe environment through accurate documentation, medication safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Participate in invasive and non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics as needed.
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
- Certifications: NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Prof, BLS, and ACLS are required upon hire.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
