Role Overview:
The Safety Specialist leverages scientific and practical knowledge to design, innovate, and improve safety systems, processes, equipment, and tools. Their focus is on enhancing safety characteristics in alignment with daily operations, new models, and business goals to promote safety excellence and reduce hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safety improvement projects and support plant themes.
- Implement PDCA cycles to minimize injuries and hazards, ensuring continuous safety improvements.
- Support leadership, safety committees, and advocates to foster a proactive safety culture.
- Interpret and apply safety policies, participate in policy PDCA activities.
- Conduct complex safety assessments, ergonomic studies, and safety-related documentation.
- Present safety data, analyze trends, and report findings effectively.
- Develop technical expertise and professional skills in safety management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Health, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 0-4 years of safety experience.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, injury prevention, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to interpret safety policies and perform root cause analysis.
- Ability to work in manufacturing environments, perform production tasks, and adapt to varying shifts.
