Role Overview: A CT Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography procedures, administering ionizing radiation, and assisting licensed practitioners with diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging. They ensure patient safety, proper preparation, and accurate data acquisition for diagnosis and intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and adhere to ALARA principles for radiation safety.
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and ensure data storage and transfer.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist with interventional procedures, and perform CT scans as prescribed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to starting.
- Ability to perform or assist with advanced imaging procedures, with potential for higher-level roles based on skills and experience.
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technology training program.
