Role Overview: This position involves performing clinical duties as a medical laboratory scientist in a high-complexity laboratory and teaching medical laboratory science students, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role balances clinical and educational responsibilities, fostering student and patient experiences aligned with core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all duties and meet performance and competency expectations of a medical laboratory scientist.
- Collaborate with the education team to develop and deliver MLS curriculum and materials.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurately record and report results.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues proactively.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement and professional development.
- Participate in teamwork to optimize workflows and meet organizational goals.
- Model professional behaviors and contribute to scholarly activities.
- Possibly serve on departmental or educational committees and assist with recruitment efforts.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field and certification (ASCP or equivalent) required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- For adjunct roles, equivalent experience with associate’s degree, certification, and extensive laboratory or teaching experience may be considered.
- Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory practices, teaching skills, and professionalism.
