Role Overview: A CT Technologist administers ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, performing computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures. They acquire and analyze data for diagnosis and assist licensed practitioners in interventional and therapeutic procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Properly identify patients, obtain correct orders, and prepare them for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
- Evaluate images for quality, correct positioning, and ensure proper data storage or transfer.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare team members.
- Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures and perform prescribed CT scans.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate commitment to organizational priorities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB with ARRT-CT certification.
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in routine and complex procedures, with a commitment to safety and quality.
